*** Streamin’ Steve’s 12th Live Streaming Show ***

Live Music Fans,

This week, we have two more talented local musical acts for your listening pleasure.  John Riger is a long time pro musician who will light up the stage.  And, we welcome Rodrigo to our little stage for the first time.  He plays the style of guitar I fell in love with in high school.  A half century later and I’m still playing some of those old classical songs I learned many decades ago.  This should be another sweet night of live music that we will live stream to you.  Hope you enjoy it!

See you in our streams!

FRIDAY NIGHT – JULY 10TH – THE BROTHERS BAND FEATURING JOHN PAUL RIGER- OPENING ACT: RODRIGO ARREGUIN – 7:30PM – WWW.GRASSROOTSTV.ORG

“John Paul Riger started playing the piano informally at the age of four or five.  He’d just watch his dad play and then try his hand at it when dad was done.  John never had any music lessons or music education other than just banging away at it and trying to play his favorite radio songs.  He joined his first gigging band when he was fourteen and has played professionally ever since.  Music has always been a sideline passion for John until 2008 when he retired from his full time job to fully immerse into piano studies.  John’s learned a lot from the countless musicians with whom he’s played for almost six decades.”

“John has a passion for music, for all music.  He states, “I just love music, all music.  I really just love music!  I love to play it, to practice it, to perform it.  I love to study it, record it, video it.  I love to watch others learn it and play it too.  I love to watch all others enjoy the same as I do.  I guess music is kind of like a language when you think about it.  And though everyone is born with the instinctive ability to interpret it, musicians make a life long commitment to study that language and to learn how to speak it and share it.  That’s precisely what’s going on with brothers John Brown and Clint Thompson.  We just love playing music man and any chance we can get to share it with others, we’re totally down for that!”

“John has a decade-long reputation of performing classical, ragtime, jazz, bossa nova, rhythm and blues, Motown, rock, pop, bluegrass, country, world, samba, gospel and improvisations throughout Colorado, particularly in the Colorado State Capitol district at the Denver Public Library, the Boettcher Auditorium of the Colorado History Museum, and for legislators, lobbyists, and constituent groups at numerous state agency functions.”

“John served most recently as the music director of the Redstone Art Center (2013-2015).  Additionally, you can find him performing as a soloist at various venues throughout the Roaring Fork Valley including the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, the Iron Mountain Hot Springs, the Historic Redstone Inn and House Of Blues in Paonia.  You can also catch him performing at Belly Up Aspen or the Limelight Hotel Snowmass pretty much on a monthly basis TBD.”

“John comes from a long line of Coloradoans.  His grandfather Hugh A. Stewart was born in Aspen in 1888.  His great grandfather, James T. Stewart was elected the Sheriff of Pitkin County that same year.”

I’ve been hopelessly addicted to live music for nearly all of my 70 years of life.  So glad we are able to make some of it still happen in this scary time.  Enjoy!
